Trent Alexander-Arnold will become a Real Madrid player on June 1st.

This comes after Liverpool agreed to release Alexander-Arnold from his contract early for £10m in order for him to feature for his new club at the Club World Cup.

After initially being offered £850,000, Liverpool saw that as far too low and negotiated quickly after seeing that an opportunity to get as much money as they could became available.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s switch to Los Blancos marks the end of a 20-year spell at Liverpool in which he rose through the academy and won all there was to win in England, whilst now being one of the best right-backs in world football.

A fitting farewell, winning the Premier League in his final season, the city congratulated him and said goodbye to the player on the parade around the city.

Liverpool have moved swiftly to find his replacement in Jeremie Frimpong, but the impact Trent Alexander-Arnold had on his boyhood club will not be forgotten.

Since the confirmation that Trent would join Real Madrid early, he has since removed Liverpool FC from his social media bios and replaced it with Real Marid C.F and fans have now been quick to spot a comment left by the former Reds right-back on a Real Madrid post about their new manager Xabi Alonso.

Under an image of Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold, in which they embraced during Liverpool’s Champions League group phase game against Bayer Leverkusen earlier this season, Trent commented “El Jefe”.

El Jefe is Spanish for The Boss, as Trent was quick to show off his Spanish in preparation for a move to the Spanish city.

The former Reds player is clearly keen to link up with a man who also has roots in Liverpool, after Xabi Alonso played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2009.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will sign a six year deal at Real Madrid as he moves during the prime years of his career, earning around £13.7 million annually at his new home.
