He would then do the same when emphatically holding aloft the trophy to the Kop.
Supporters might not be happy to see Alexander-Arnold leave Liverpool, but wounds are healing as such ill-feeling was put to one side to celebrate winning the title.
Chiesa’s a Kopite now!
Federico Chiesa was rather sheepish when he was presented the Premier League trophy in front of the Kop.
But while his team-mates were holding it aloft once before passing it on, they insisted the Italian kept saluting the Kop when it was his turn.
After repeatedly lifting the trophy, the Liverpool squad then jumped on top of the forward before joining Anfield in an impromptu rendition of the Italian’s catchy chant.
It has been a frustrating season for Chiesa, starting only once in the Premier League since joining Liverpool.
But his popularity in the dressing room and stands is clear regardless.
‘Only one Alan Hansen!’
Liverpool legend Alan Hansen was the man tasked with presenting Virgil van Dijk with the Premier League trophy and handing out winners’ medals to the Reds squad.
As both Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold waited for their turn, they embraced owner John W.
Henry, his wife Linda Pizzuti and the rest of the Liverpool ownership group who were watching on from the side.
After being presented with the trophy, Van Dijk would later reunite with Hansen in front of the Kop as he insisted the Scot come over for a picture alongside him and hold aloft the trophy.
Anfield then responded with a chant of ‘There’s only one Alan Hansen’ in recognition of one of their greatest ever players in what was one of the most touching moments of the day.
Meanwhile, the Liverpool squad would make a point of taking the crown off the Premier League trophy and putting it on Salah's head as Anfield royalty was honoured all round.

After the podium celebrations concluded, the Liverpool squad quickly raced towards the Kop to continue the party.
The Brazilian made sure to grab the silverware before sprinting over to the rest of his team-mates and become the first player to salute the Kop with the trophy in hand.
And he would later earn even louder cheers after climbing onto the crossbar of the goal in front of the Kop.
Poor Harvey
With Arne Slot and Virgil van Dijk insisting the Liverpool squad return to the Kop with the Premier League trophy for a squad photo, the club’s media team was tasked with quickly rounding up a number of Reds players speaking to international broadcasters as interviews were swiftly cut short.
The likes of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Ibrahima Konate and Alexis Mac Allister all sprinted over to join the rest of the ranks in the Kop goal.
