Trent Alexander-Arnold is a truly unique footballer, and Jürgen Klopp perhaps knows that better than anybody else. The German coach was the man to integrate the Scouse defender into his first-team setup in 2016, having presented him with his senior debut in a 3-0 win over Middlesbrough. The typical creator tends to occupy spaces in the final third for the most part, but has been deployed as a quarterback of sorts in deeper areas. Aged just 24, he is one of only three defenders in Premier League history to register more than 50 assists in the competition.
"Trent is Trent, who plays passes the stadium didn't see," said Pep Lijnders, Klopp's assistant, in an interview with the recently.
Alexander-Arnold is capable enough to become a situational midfielder at times, but is a completely different player.
The Liverpool-born talisman has always been special, but his importance to Klopp grew over the weekend, even though he didn't get on the pitch.
