Alexander-Arnold announced on Monday morning that he will depart his boyhood club when his contract expires, sparking an outpouring of emotion on Merseyside.

That opinion has now been backed up by evidence, with The Athletic reporting that Alexander-Arnold used painkilling injections to make himself available for the Reds earlier in the campaign.
