The Reds reportedly made two offers for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi — both turned down flat by the London club.
They’ve set their price at €55 million (around £47.8 million) — and they’re standing firm.
Sources (via Foot Mercato) say the offers Liverpool made were seen as “insulting.” The club, now under new boss Arne Slot, had hoped to bring in the England international as uncertainty looms over Ibrahima Konaté’s future.
Real Madrid are said to be watching Konaté’s situation closely, which may have prompted Liverpool to act early.
But with Palace not budging and Liverpool unwilling to splash that much cash, the deal appears off — for now.

Reports suggest that Liverpool are already looking at other targets.
The Magpies are back in the hunt for Guehi after missing out last summer.
Eddie Howe is eager to reinforce his defense, and with the Isak situation growing tense, he’s got plenty on his plate.
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown claimed, “From what I hear, that interest in Guehi is still there, but he wants the Liverpool move.”
So, while Guehi reportedly favours a move to Anfield, Palace won’t be pushed around.
But after missing multiple targets already this window, their fans might be nervous about another deal slipping through the cracks.
One thing’s for sure — this transfer saga still has some extra time left on the clock.
