Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Sunday at Anfield.
The Reds have already secured the Premier League title and played like champions during the opening 25 minutes.
Liverpool went 2-0 up after quickfire goals from Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz fired them into a healthy lead against the Gunners.
But despite thoroughly dominating the first-half, Liverpool let it slip in the second period, allowing Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino to level the scores.
However good the game was, though, the main talking point was the introduction of Trent Alexander-Arnold and the reaction from the Anfield crowd.
Liverpool supporters roundly booed Alexander-Arnold, letting him know exactly what they think of his decision to wind down his contract and join Real Madrid.
But after witnessing such an intense reaction, Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai were not impressed with the Liverpool fans.

Liverpool supporters’ reaction to Alexander-Arnold will be predictably slammed by those who have no affiliation to the club.
However, given the manner in which the No.
66 is leaving, many will feel it is entirely justified.

Worryingly, some of the Liverpool squad did not seem to understand the strength of feeling from their own fans.
As journalist Ian Doyle noted on X, Gakpo was one of those remonstrating with supporters at the final whistle.

“Some fans boo Alexander-Arnold after the game as the players salute the Kop and Gakpo briefly puts his arms out as if to say ‘why?'” said Doyle.
And as fellow reporter Lewis Steele posted on X shortly after, Szoboszlai was also apparently unhappy at the final whistle.
“Dominik Szoboszlai appeared to gesture for the Kop to lay off Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The players have a right to feel how they feel about the reaction to Alexander-Arnold, but they should perhaps keep it behind closed doors.
Fans are justified to be angry with the right-back and this is the only way they could show that.
The players have had love throughout the season – in difficult times and in good times – and the celebrations that followed winning the title showed just how much the fans have stuck with them this season.
The likes of Gakpo and Szoboszlai have not been at Liverpool long enough, and do not have enough credit in the bank, to tell supporters what to.
This all needs putting to bed now, but the players need not wade in with their own opinions in this manner.
