Andy Robertson admits it was 'not nice' to hear Trent Alexander-Arnold being booed by some Liverpool fans during their match with Arsenal on Sunday but stopped short of condemning those who did jeer the Reds defender.
Alexander-Arnold, 26, endured a mixed reception on his first appearance for Liverpool since announcing he would leave the club at the end of the season.
Some fans booed when his name was read out pre-match while others jeered when he replaced Conor Bradley just after the hour mark in the game, which finished 2-2.
Robertson was asked about those who did boo Alexander-Arnold post-match by Sky Sports and the Scot conceded that while it is a difficult situation, it's hard to 'tell people how to feel' about the defender's impending departure.
"There's a lot of emotion around it.
It's crucial in these moments that I don't tell you how to feel and you don't tell me how to feel about it.
All I can do is tell you how I feel about it," Robertson explained.

The Mail reported that Dominik Szoboszlai seemed to be urging some within the Kop to stop booing Alexander-Arnold after the game after the right-back went over to applaud some of the home support.
Arne Slot was also asked about the fans' reaction to Alexander-Arnold and said: "In general in life the good thing about living in Europe is that everyone can have an opinion and that's the same in Liverpool.
