Two former Liverpool players nominated in latest batch of Premier League Hall of Fame candidates

Liverpool are developing their own batch of Premier League legends as they continue to deliver success in the 2020s.
The Reds have twice won the English top division since the turn of the decade, with Jurgen Klopp and then Arne Slot securing championships at Anfield.
Prior to Klopp ending Liverpool‘s 30-year wait in 2020, the Reds had never won the Premier League.
They had huffed and puffed and often finished as glorious runners-up, but Liverpool could never seem to get over the line.
That does not mean that they did not have some super players in the meantime, though.
Liverpool legends of the Premier League era are plentiful and brilliant.
And as the division continues to expand it’s Hall of Fame, two distinguished former Reds have been put forward as candidates.

The Premier League Hall of Fame was created in 2021, and has since seen 22 players and two managers inducted into it.
Steven Gerrard is the only current representative to have played for Liverpool, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea dominating the inductees.

On Monday, 15 more candidates were revealed, with fans tasked with voting two players in.
Legendary strikers Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen have both been nominated, two products of the Liverpool academy who went on to star at Anfield and beyond.
As usual, Man United have plenty of former players present, with as many as six of Sir Alex Ferguson’s former players picked – not including Owen.
Elsewhere there are some more modern names on the list, including Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard, David Silva and Yaya Toure.
Although it is highly debatable whether fans will want to vote for Owen to be honoured, Fowler is certainly deserving of a vote.
