Liverpool are looking closely at two strikers as potential additions.

The club are huge fans of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

He fits the profile of a modern centre-forward — quick, technical, and Premier League-proven.

Isak has been valued at £85million and beyond by Newcastle, who are not keen on selling unless forced by financial regulations.

The second striker being monitored is Hugo Ekitike, who recently moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from PSG.

Like Isak, though, his club has placed a high valuation on him — again £85million and beyond.

Ian Doyle of Liverpool Echo reported, “Liverpool are huge fans of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak and are monitoring the situation of Hugo Ekitike at Eintracht Frankfurt, although both have initially been valued at £85m and beyond.”

The interest comes at a time when Darwin Nunez is attracting long-term attention from the Saudi Pro League, while Federico Chiesa is open to a return to Italy with Napoli keen.

Luis Diaz is also on the radar of Barcelona and clubs in the Middle East.

However, Diaz would be happy to stay at Liverpool and has two years left on his current deal.

The club’s approach is clear.

They won’t sell unless replacements are lined up.

Any significant attacking departures will only happen “dependent on reinforcements being targeted, particularly in the number nine role.”
