Everton fans reacted all but unanimously to a fresh update in the club’s pursuit of Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling.
The Toffees are undergoing a significant rebuild in David Moyes’ first summer back in charge, with The Friedkin Group eager to make a strong impression as the club’s new owners.
There have already been several new arrivals, with Everton sealing deals for 22-year-old forward Thierno Barry from Villarreal and highly-rated youngster Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.
Their strategy of targeting youthful talent has remained consistent, with reports now revealing that Everton have seen a bid rejected for Southampton’s Dibling in what would be an ambitious move to strengthen their attacking options.
Despite the initial offer being turned down, Everton fans have shown clear excitement at the prospect of Dibling joining the club, with many hopeful the interest signals further intent to build for the future.
Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke has told Football Insider that Everton are preparing a second bid for Southampton’s Dibling, viewing the 19-year-old as a potential alternative to Jack Grealish.

Moyes is reportedly a big admirer of the young forward, and despite concerns over the asking price, the club is pushing ahead with another offer.
Football Insider previously revealed in May that Southampton are demanding around £55 million for Dibling following their relegation from the Premier League, with multiple top-flight clubs tracking his progress.
The winger enjoyed an impressive breakout season, scoring four goals and registering three assists across 38 appearances in all competitions, in his first full campaign as a senior regular for the Saints.
While Grealish has been linked with a potential switch to Everton this summer, talks have yet to materialise.
His wages are understood to be a major stumbling block for the Toffees, and as a result, Dibling has emerged as a more viable alternative.

Several Premier League clubs have registered interest in the England youth international, with Football Insider reporting last month that Crystal Palace are keen to sign Dibling, with Tottenham and Newcastle also keeping tabs on him throughout the year.
However, Everton appear to be taking the initiative, and supporters have responded to the latest update with calls for the club to get a deal over the line.
One fan reacted to the news saying: “Dibling walks into this Everton team…Pay the £35m and get him in the door” with another adding “This kid will be exceptional.
