The former Liverpool midfielder is enjoying his time in France.

Tyler Morton left Liverpool this summer on a permanent deal after spending sixteen years at the club.

Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon were the side that teased him away from Anfield, signing him on a five-year contract in a deal worth up to 15million euros, with Liverpool retaining a 20% sell-on clause.

It brought to an end a spell at Liverpool that saw Morton rise through the ranks and sporadically appear in the first team, but he never quite held down a spot in the team consistently.

His talent was clear to see, and successful loan spells at Hull City and Blackburn Rovers showcased that.

During the 2022/23 season, Morton spent the season on loan with Blackburn?

He appeared for the team 46 times throughout the campaign and was an important player for their team.

After arriving back on Merseyside in the summer of 2023, he was sent out on loan again, this time to Hull City.

Morton featured 39 times for the Championship side during the 2023/24 season, picking up the December EFL Young Player of the Month during another successful year dropping down a division.

Loan spells like that are crucial for developing a young player and it has appeared to have paid off because he has now got his move to a club where he can really flourish and he is doing just that.

Adjusting remarkably well to life in France, Squawka Football have pinpointed two statistics that Tyler Morton tops across Europe’s top five leagues.

Their post on X reads: “No player in Europe’s top five leagues has made more penalty are entries (29) or made more accurate crosses (10) than Tyler Morton so far this season.”

A remarkable achievement, and whilst his goal contributions ae not yet racking up, there are real signs that Morton will be a success in France.
