Tyrell Malacia could break back into the Manchester United squad by offering his services in a new position to Ruben Amorim.

Malacia was part of Man United’s ‘bomb squad’ and was on the transfer list to be sold this summer.

However, Man United struggled for interested in Malacia, and the left-back has been left on the sidelines for the club’s opening four fixtures of the season.

The 26-year-old was sent on loan to PSV for the second half of last campaign, but the Dutch club declined the option to sign him permanently.

Whilst Man United were able to offload other members of the ‘bomb squad’, Malacia remains at Old Trafford.

As per The Guardian [September 2], Man United’s approach for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher got shut down so Malacia may have to reinvent himself as a midfielder which is a “position of weakness” for Ruben Amorim.

Football Insider Verdict

Malacia looks to be stuck at Old Trafford until the January transfer window, and the Dutchman will have to fight to regain the trust of Amorim.

Wing-back and midfield are areas where Man United are short of numbers, so Malacia could still prove to be a handy squad player.
