UEFA has announced that a moment of silence will be observed at all of the Women's European Championship matches on Thursday and Friday to pay tribute to Diogo Jota.
Liverpool forward Jota passed away alongside his brother in Spain in the early hours of Thursday morning, after the car they were traveling in blew a tyre, causing a crash which resulted in the vehicle catching fire.
A UEFA statement said: “UEFA announces that a moment of silence will be observed at all of today’s and tomorrow’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 matches in memory of Portugal international and Liverpool FC forward Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva who tragically passed away today."
