UEFA have released their end-of-season club rankings with the 2024/25 campaign now over.
Paris Saint-Germain made history of the weekend with a 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan to claim their first-ever European Cup.
As a result, the football governing body has now released their rankings off the back of the new season.
The UEFA club coefficient is calculated by adding up all the points a club earns from its results in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League over the last five seasons.
Clubs get points for wins, draws, and for reaching later rounds.
The total from the last five years is the club’s coefficient score, or 20% of their country’s coefficient over the same period—whichever is higher1
This ranking is used for seeding in European competitions.
And surprisingly, UEFA’s latest five-year club coefficient rankings reveal Liverpool as the fourth-best team in European football, outperforming treble-winning Paris Saint-Germain and reaffirming their status as continental heavyweights.
The Reds’ consistency across competitions has secured them a prime seeding position for next season’s Champions League.
The ranking system, which evaluates clubs’ European performances across the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, weighs recent achievements more heavily.
Liverpool accumulated 125.5 coefficient points over the past five seasons, placing them behind only Real Madrid (143.5), Manchester City (137.75), and Bayern Munich (135.25).

This marks the seventh consecutive year the Reds have ranked in UEFA’s top five
Notably, the Reds sit seven points clear of PSG (118.5) despite the French side’s Champions League triumph.
While PSG’s 2024/25 treble—including their maiden Champions League title—captured headlines, their five-year coefficient remains hampered by earlier underperformances.
The five-season coefficient reflects sustained excellence, not just isolated peaks.
