Paddy Pimblett has said he was in disbelief after Liverpool's Premier League trophy parade was plunged into horror when a car ploughed into supporters on Water Street, shortly after 6pm on Monday.
It overshadowed what up to that point had been a day of celebration, of coming together to commemorate Liverpool's achievement.
Pimblett, a passionate Reds fan who displays his support either directly at Anfield matches or when regularly fighting on UFC cards worldwide, took to Instagram to issue a statement on what happened.

"Went the parade today amazing support as always for our reds nobody does celebrations and parades like us @liverpoolfc (ok hand emoji).
"Taking the baby's their first ever parade today was a memory I'll never forget the looks on their little faces looking at the spectacle and I'll have the pictures and videos to show them when they grow up," the 30-year-old wrote.
Married to his long-time girlfriend Laura Gregory, the couple have infant twins born only last year.

Pimblett added: "Still cannot believe what actually happened after it, day of celebration turned into a worry for everyone who was there or even knew anybody there, friends and family messaging to make sure that they are safe something that we shouldn't have to do or worry about.
"I hope anyone injured has a fast recovery and anyone affected already knows they have the full city supporting them, red or blue it doesn't matter.
Things like this are more important than football (heart emoji) YNWA."

You'll never walk alone."
Liverpool have decided to postpone any further internal celebrations for club staff that were scheduled for Tuesday in light of what happened on Water Street.
In an email seen by BBC News, the club stated they 'will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities” and encouraged staff “to come together at this time to support each other'.
Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has also spoken on Tuesday morning, adding: "On behalf of all of us here at Liverpool Football Club, I would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts to all those who’ve been affected by this appalling incident on Water Street yesterday evening.
"This weekend was one of celebration, emotion and joy spread across the city in our entire fan base, and it ended in unimaginable scenes of distress with this appalling incident.
"I’d like to pay tribute to our emergency services and partner agencies – Merseyside Police, North West and St John Ambulance Services, and Merseyside Fire and Rescue – who dealt with the incident, and now our hospital staff across the city who are dealing with those who are injured, including tragically four children.
"I would also like to thank our supporters who witnessed this event and helped each other where they could.
