Liverpool's next transfer pursuit will undoubtedly be concentrated on acquiring a midfielder for the club.
One option who has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool is Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
With his contract until 2024, Liverpool would be in an advantageous position to pounce for him over the summer, but Chelsea will still likely demand a hefty fee and couple that with Mount's contract demands and he becomes an expensive commodity rather than someone Liverpool should genuinely target.
At just 19 years old, Musah would likely demand a lot less in wages, and while he may cost around the same price as Mount, his age and his profile makes him a much better fit for Liverpool.

An even more recent report by the Daily Mail has explained how Mount recently rejected a £200k-a-week contract, with the Chelsea academy graduate looking for closer to £300k-a-week instead because he wants parity with Raheem Sterling.
The Reds lack depth and options in the middle of the park and after an unsuccessful attempt to sign midfielders over the summer, that has to change in 2023.
That game against England combined with his recent form should have made that clear for Liverpool's scouting department and if Liverpool do indeed begin to pursue a midfielder next year, Musah should be higher on the agenda than Mount.
