As Liverpool search for a new forward this summer, some may feel they already let the ideal addition slip through their grasp in January.
The Reds are clearly on the hunt for someone to lead their attack into a new dawn under Arne Slot.
For a while it had seemed like that man could be Omar Marmoush.
Since then, he has an impressive six goals in 12 appearances.
Given the obvious links between the two players, Marmoush is already having to deal with comparisons with Mohamed Salah.
According to the man himself, though, he is simply trying to write his own story in the Premier League.

It is going to be virtually impossible for Marmoush to live up to Salah’s legacy in England.
The Liverpool superstar is one of the Premier League’s best ever players.
Nevertheless, now 32, some may have been surprised by just how good Mo has been this season.

Not Marmoush, though.
His move to Chelsea came when Mo was just 21 and the winger had already been tearing it up for Basel for 18 months.

Marmoush’s path has been a different one, with the City man only really emerging as a top-class forward this season.
And the two player’s respective records for the national team reflect their differing statues.
Salah is the team’s captain and figurehead and has hit an impressive 53 goals in 73 caps.
More than six years Salah’s junior, Marmoush has just 37 caps and has bagged only five times.
As the younger man develops and writes his own story with City, his star will likely shine brighter.
