However, without that depth among their squad, there’s hardly any chance that Liverpool will be able to compete for the Premier League title, never mind the Champions League.





Over the last couple of days, Joe Gomez’s Liverpool future has been brought into question.

With the massive number of players that Liverpool have already sold this summer, you’d expect them to want to keep hold of some of their more experienced players.



Instead, it seems like the Reds are set to entertain bids for Gomez if Marc Guehi ends up joining the club.

However, even though Guehi would be a solid replacement for the Englishman at centre-back, the fact that Gomez can be used in both full-back positions cannot be forgotten about.

Although the former Charlton man is often injured himself, the cover he can provide Liverpool across the back four is second to none, and to be honest, it makes him a vital player among Slot’s ranks, with the Dutchman himself even dubbing him “outstanding.”

If Liverpool want to be as dominant as they were last season, they must keep hold of as many players as possible and ensure they’re not actually weakening themselves, much like they would be if they sold Gomez.
