The video assistant referee for Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal has been stood down.

Michael Salisbury was taken off Sunday’s Premier League showdown at Anfield after an error in the London derby between Fulham and Chelsea.

Josh King had opened the scoring for the hosts in the first half of the game but saw it overruled by VAR for a foul by Rodrigo Muniz in the build-up.

Professional Game Match Officials Limited chief Howard Webb has since spoken to Fulham and acknowledged that Salisbury made an error.

Consequently, the 40-year-old will no longer be involved in the Premier League champions’ encounter with the Gunners as a result of his mistake.

John Brooks has been confirmed as Salisbury’s replacement at Anfield.
