Liverpool player both past and present have shown their support for Ibrahima Konate following the announcement of his latest deal.

Liverpool have undergone plenty of changes this summer with Arne Slot continuing to make build to his squad in his second summer transfer window.

While there have been high-profile arrivals such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, several notable departures have also marked a summer exodus.

Trent Alexander-Arnold completed a move to Real Madrid in June, while Luis Diaz signed for Bayern Munich, and more recently Darwin Nunez joined Al-Hilal.

Another significant departure could be on the horizon, with Football Insider revealing that Liverpool may be open to selling Konate if he continues to stall in contract negotiations.

While his current contract with Liverpool runs until 2026, Konate has signed a new sponsorship deal, becoming the latest footballer to join Under Armour.

The announcement drew plenty of reactions, with Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and former teammate Diaz all liking the post.

Despite signing the new sponsorship deal, Konate’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain.

Football Insider has revealed that Real Madrid are considering a £25million offer for Konate in what would be a cut-price deal, but they are also willing to wait until 2026 when his current contract expires to sign him for free.

This approach mirrors what Liverpool experienced with academy graduate Alexander-Arnold, who ran down his contract to the final months before completing a high-profile move to Los Blancos.

With Slot’s defence undergoing significant change this summer, the club are looking to bolster their centre-back options.

Football Insider has reported that Liverpool are continuing discussions with Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi, with the south London club demanding £40m for the defender.

The reigning Premier League champions have so far been unwilling to meet that price, while Palace aim to maximise Guehi’s potential transfer fee despite the risk of losing him for free in 12 months.
