The disappointment of losing at Arsenal will have still been rife before the game, something Diogo Jota’s early goal will have helped dissipate.

However, the 90 minutes certainly didn’t come without its challenges, with Burnley proving their goal threat.

Perhaps Klopp will be disappointed with just how many chances his side conceded, even if David Datro Fofana’s finishing let them off on this occasion.

That being said, Liverpool did also have to cope with the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold to injury during the game, an issue Klopp will hope is only minor.

As a result, Curtis Jones played at right-back for a period, proving just how effective he can be in multiple positions.

And although Virgil van Dijk was impressed with Jones’ performance for Liverpool against Burnley, Harvey Elliott also really caught his eye.

Elliot started the game on the bench, replacing Trent at half-time following the mentioned injury.

And when speaking to Liverpool’s website following the Burnley win, Van Dijk pointed out just how important the extended squad will be.

The club captain was delighted to see Elliot making such a big impact off of the bench, providing the assist for Darwin Nunez’s late goal.

Van Dijk said: “It is not ideal but we have to adapt and that’s football.

“Whoever is going to be on that pitch has to perform, that is what we all expect as well.

“We are in the middle of a very intense period with games on the very highest level and pressure.

Everyone has to be ready to perform.

“Very, very impressed [with Elliott] and Curtis when he went to right-back.

We need them.

“Even if you start on the bench, you have to be ready to make an impact.

This season there has been a lot of players who have come from the bench and made a difference.

That’s what we need.”

Of course, Klopp will be the first to echo Van Dijk’s words following Liverpool’s much-needed win over Burnley.

If the club are to achieve a title in the German’s last season, then the whole squad will need to pull together, starting or not.

That being said, it’s now been reported that Liverpool have made their first move to sign a ‘special’ young manager to replace Klopp.
