Manchester City teenager Rico Lewis has stated that he is now learning from Trent Alexander-Arnold in England training.
Speaking to the Mirror, the 18-year-old defender revealed that he is taking in information on how Liverpool right-back performs in order to improve his own game.
Lewis is expected to make his England debut tonight against North Macedonia having broken into Pep Guardiola’s senior plans at City, with the teenager able to play in defence and in the midfield.

And Alexander-Arnold is arguably the perfect mentor for Lewis, with the City defender clearly a big fan of the Liverpool superstar ahead of his first senior international bow with the Three Lions.

Lewis said: “I would not say [I] picked his brains.
We are very similar being full-backs and leaning a little bit more towards midfield, especially with England.
And he is somebody I can take a lot of information from.”

Despite City’s rivalry with Liverpool, bad blood is seemingly pushed away when England camps are now in sessions, and Alexander-Arnold is a dream mentor for Lewis.
The Anfield defender has been at the top of his game ever since he broke into Jurgen Klopp’s squad as a teenager, with Lewis mirroring Alexander-Arnold’s own career at City.
And as a result, the Liverpool star is a perfect mentor for Lewis, who can now learn from one of the best in the sport to help his performances for both club and country.
Indeed, Lewis is on the path to stardom just like Alexander-Arnold was heading into the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the Liverpool man could be exactly who the City defender needs to unlock his true potential.
