Wataru Endo has reflected on a historic season for both him and Liverpool, thanking Reds supporters in the process.

If there was one game to sum up Endo’s contribution to Liverpool, it would be his impressive cameo versus Wolves back in February.
Despite not even playing a quarter of the game, the midfielder would be named as player of the match by the Liverpool supporters – a decision Endo admitted left him ‘very surprised’.

“It’s every moment I played.
It’s a joy to play football in front of our supporters,” the 32-year-old told the Liverpool website.

“If I say one game, it’s against Wolves [at Anfield in February] I think.
It was an important game, and I came on for the last 15 minutes like always and I think I played well, and the fans chose me as the Player of the Match.
I think the feeling the fans had [is] that everyone is important.
“That game was a really important game and for me a good moment.”

Despite his substitute heroics, there are still rumours that Endo could leave Liverpool this summer.
