There is an update on the future of Liverpool-linked Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian striker has been one of the most lethal forwards in Europe over the last three seasons.
He was Serie A’s top scorer in the 2022/23 season when Napoli won the title under Luciano Spalletti.
After falling out of favour at Napoli last season, Osimhen moved to Galatasaray on loan, where he also enjoyed a strong season, helping the Turkish giants win the domestic double.
He scored 31 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray, finishing the season as the league’s top scorer.
As expected, a striker of his quality is attracting interest from several top clubs, including Liverpool.
The Reds have been linked with a move for him for some time now, and just last week, Sky Germany named him as one of the three concrete No.
9 targets Liverpool are considering.
“Liverpool are currently focusing on three concrete options in their search for a new number 9: Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, and Victor Osimhen,” Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg wrote on X.
However, it appears as though Liverpool will be unable to land the 26-year-old as he has now agreed personal terms with Galatasaray.
Earlier on Monday, the journalist revealed that the Turkish club had sent in an initial €50m+ bid for Osimhen.
“Galatasaray have sent an initial bid for Victor Osimhen for €50m plus €5m… while Napoli want more,” the journalist wrote on X.
“Osimhen, keen in return to Gala but deal depends on club to club talks.
Al Hilal remain involved in race with plan to pay €75m clause but no agreement with Victor yet.”
Later on Monday, the Italian journalist provided more update on the transfer, revealing that Osimhen has now agreed personal terms with Galatasaray.
“Personal terms are agreed until June 2028?
Victor said yes to Gala once again,” Romano wrote on X.
“It now depends on Galatasaray and Napoli to get deal done after initial €55m bid, after Al Hilal offered to pay €75m clause.”
