One story of the early part of Liverpool’s season so far has been the swapping and changing of Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike.
There has been plenty of debate surrounding the Reds’ decision to sign both strikers this summer, and a potential rivalry between the players has been whipped up in the media.
At Liverpool, you would imagine there is a feeling that Isak and Ekitike can play together, although that is something we are yet to see in action.
Isak is still building his fitness having had no pre-season to speak of for Newcastle, leaving Ekitike to rack up five goals in his first eight Liverpool appearances.
On Tuesday, Isak finally hit back, registering his first goal for the club against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.
The Swede was obviously delighted and delivered his trademark celebration as a result.
And having previously been unseen on television footage, a camera picked up Ekitike’s reaction to the goal.

It must have been a relief for Isak to get his goal on Tuesday.
After arriving for such a huge price tag, there was pressure on finding the net for the first time.
And while there should not be any real hint of rivalry between the 26-year-old and Ekitike, it may have added to the pressure that the Frenchman was scoring regularly as well.

Nevertheless, there is no reason both players cannot co-exist at Liverpool, and that certainly seems to be the feeling between them.
After Isak found the net and raced towards the Main Stand on Tuesday, Ekitike was warming up on the touchline.
As the No.
So far, all three of Isak’s Liverpool appearances have come without Ekitike on the pitch.
That will become four on Saturday, providing the Sweden international plays some part against Crystal Palace.
With Liverpool being careful over going full throttle with Isak, it seems likely that Tuesday’s trip to Galatasaray will also be a case of splitting time between the two strikers.
Arne Slot has recently claimed that he only expects Isak to be fully fit following the October international break.
There is one more match to come between then, as Liverpool face Chelsea on October the 4th.
That could be the first time we see Isak and Ekitike together, but it may be that Slot waits until after the break.
From there, competition for places will ramp up massively, and it will be fascinating to see what the boss decides.
