Liverpool’s first stop on their Premier League victory parade didn’t go to plan as the Reds were beaten 3-1 by Chelsea.
Having secured the title last week, Arne Slot made six changes to the starting XI that beat Tottenham at Anfield as Liverpool faced Chelsea with a new-look midfield with Kostas Tsimikas and Jarell Quansah also returning to the line-up.
Although Liverpool fans were impressed with Wataru Endo’s performance, the Reds simply didn’t have the energy or the motivation to beat Chelsea, who will be keen to win every remaining game this season in their bid to clinch a UEFA Champions League spot.
And no moment summed up how little Liverpool fans cared about today’s game after what supporters were seen doing after Cole Palmer scored Chelsea’s third goal of the match.

In a video posted by the Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool fans in the Stamford Bridge away end were seen celebrating Palmer’s goal, with supporters seemingly completely unbothered by the penalty or the full-time result.
With Endo making his Premier League start for Liverpool this season, the Reds’ remaining fixtures will have a pre-season friendly vibe to them with the Anfield side confirmed league champions and having next to nothing to play for aside from pride and respect.
Indeed, Liverpool fans had the right reaction in the away end to Palmer’s penalty given how happy every supporter still is after last week’s title win, with all eyes now focused on the trophy lift on the final day of the season against Crystal Palace.
And whilst a better result at Stamford Bridge would have been ideal, Liverpool fans seeing the funny side of everything only goes to show how dominant the Reds have been this season, with the title wrapped up with four games left to go.

Liverpool supporters were somewhat expecting Chelsea to come away with all three points today, with the Reds having nothing play for whilst their west London rivals are determined to try and finish in the top five.
Yet whilst every game for Liverpool will feel like a dead rubber, fans will hope that today’s loss in the English capital will be the last of the season, with supporters keen for the campaign to end on a high.
With the bulk of the celebration now done, Liverpool will be better prepared for next weekend’s clash against Arsenal, a game that the Reds squad will be up for given that the Gunners have been the closest title rivals all season.
