Viktor Gyokeres is a name that continues to dominate the summer transfer window.
The Sporting CP forward is one of Europe’s hottest properties this summer following a spectacular season in which he scored 54 goals in 52 games.
The striker is expected to leave Portugal this summer and is at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between Arsenal and Manchester United.
However, a fresh report from Portugal has now thrown Liverpool into the mix.
According to the Portuguese outlet A Bola, Sporting CP's striker has a list of clubs he would prefer to sign for, and Liverpool feature on that list, but the Gunners are leading the race for the forward at present.

It was previously claimed that Gyokeres would be allowed to leave Sporting if a set valuation was met.
However, the club’s president, Frederico Varandas, recently insisted that is not the case.

“I want to make one thing clear: We at Sporting have common sense,” Varandas said in quotes carried by Portuguese newspaper Record.
“We said two things (at the start of the season): that we would not demand €100m and that the value would depend on the performance of Viktor.
“How did he perform?
Even then, Sporting will not demand his release clause.

“But people should know that threats, blackmail and insults will not work with me.
I can guarantee one thing: Viktor Gyokeres won’t leave here for €60million plus €10m in add-ons.
“He won’t, and the game the agent is playing will only make the situation worse.
As of now, we haven’t had one offer for him.”
Gyokeres has scored 97 goals in 102 games since moving to Sporting from Coventry City in 2023, while the Reds have also been linked with a move for Alexander Isak.
