Morgan Rogers has opened talks over a bumper new contract at Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.
The Midlands giants are keen to reward the progress of the 23-year-old playmaker despite his poor start to the season so far.
Rogers was on the radar of the Premier League elite led by Chelsea and Tottenham in the summer, on the back of an outstanding 2024-25 campaign.
However, Unai Emery rebuffed the interest in his star man, with Rogers valued at around the £80million mark by Aston Villa as they had no intentions of losing him.
Now, Rogers is in line for a new deal despite having agreed improved terms only last November, with his current contract set to run until 2030.
He initially joined Villa at the end of the January 2024 window from Middlesbrough.

Football Insider revealed on 24 September that Aston Villa will not sell Rogers in January despite lingering interest from Spurs and Chelsea who missed out in the summer.

Rogers has been heavily criticised at Villa following their awful start to the season, with his sudden drop in form not going unnoticed including by top clubs.
However, Emery’s side are not losing faith in his abilities and are keen to reward his progress with a bumper new deal to better reflect his importance to the club.
Putting pen to paper over a new contract would also serve to deter interested clubs who are continuing to monitor his progress at Villa Park.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 14 September that Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in Rogers and could make a move after missing out in the summer.
Former Villa senior scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 23 September that Aston Villa could keep Rogers as a result of his poor start to the season.
Both Spurs and Chelsea are believed to have scouts closely monitoring his displays, but have cooled their interest slightly as a result of his sudden dip in form.
The Champions League sides are hoping to see more consistent displays from the England international before they are convinced to spend around £80million on a deal.
Despite his poor start, the attacking midfielder remains highly regarded within the game, as Roy Keane compared Rogers to Paul Gascoigne following his England displays.
Villa are keen to show their faith in him with the offer of new terms and hope an increased pay packet can convince him to commit his future to Villa Park.
