So far in the Premier League, Liverpool have not played their best football whatsoever, although four wins from four is the main takeaway from their slow start.

Now, they will be hoping to get their European campaign underway in the best way possible, and fans will be eagerly awaiting this match as it could see Alexander Isak make his debut for the club.

This is something Reds captain van Dijk was asked about pre-match, and the Dutchman had some good advice for Liverpool’s new number nine.

One of the main reasons why Isak wanted to make the move to Liverpool was so that he could win the Champions League rather than just participate in it.

He has finally got his wish and after a good amount of training sessions under his belt, he might just get the chance to show what he is about during this game.

When asked about his arrival, van Dijk was quick to praise how good his new teammate has been in training, although he also gave him some pretty good advice.

“It’s about getting as fit as possible as quick as possible and understand how we train, how we press, set-pieces.

Just work hard, enjoy being the number nine for Liverpool.”

Now that the Reds have spent close to £450m, all the pressure is on them to win every trophy available, with the Champions League one of the ones right at the very top of their wishlist.

The number of top quality players they have added has certainly put them in a good position to achieve this, and the Liverpool captain admitted he is very happy with the signings they have made.

“I’m delighted with the quality we have brought in but it takes time.
