While some of their Premier League rivals embark on the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, Liverpool players are taking some time off.
The Reds will return for pre-season training in just under two weeks’ time, on the 8th of July.
But in the meantime, the Premier League champions are enjoying their well-earned rest ahead of the new campaign.
If anyone deserves to let his hair down after a sensational season with Liverpool, then it is captain Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk was terrific once again for the Reds, playing every single minute bar 90 as he became the first Dutch captain to lift the Premier League trophy.
And as he basks in that magnificent achievement, Van Dijk has been spotted holidaying with a true legend of the game.

During his summer holidays, Van Dijk has often been pictured enjoying some sunshine with Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne left City to join Napoli last week, and has thus avoided the Club World Cup this summer.

And as he enjoys his last weeks before getting to work in Italy, the Belgian was once again spotted with Van Dijk.
This time, they were joined by an illustrious third party, though, as Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario posed in between the two Premier League icons.

With Van Dijk’s arm draped over one shoulder and De Bruyne standing grinning at the other, Ronaldo posted the happy scene to his Instagram stories on Saturday evening.
Three legends of the game in one picture together.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
Although Van Dijk is clearly delighted to be pictured with the phenomenon that is Ronaldo, he would perhaps have preferred to get a snap with one of the striker’s former colleagues.
As the Dutchman revealed to Liverpoolfc.com in August 2024, his footballing idol has always been Ronaldo’s former Brazil teammate Ronaldinho.
“I played a lot of football on the streets when I was younger and obviously then you play multiple opponents and you play all over [the pitch],” he said.
“When I was younger I really liked to do the tricks, so yeah, he [Ronaldinho] was my idol.”
Nobody tell Ronaldo!
