It’s not every day that a WWE star opens up about their favourite football team.

Fans may be used to seeing these athletes talk about their passions, but usually, it’s all about the ring.

However, when it comes to personal interests, sometimes they surprise us with the sports they follow off-screen.

Recently, a rising WWE star shared his love for one of Europe’s most iconic clubs, and it’s definitely raising some eyebrows.

While fans know this wrestler from his exciting matches and high-flying moves, not many are aware of his football loyalties.

Known for his time in Lucha Underground, Impact Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), this star made his WWE debut on the first Raw on Netflix earlier this year.

He even featured in an Intercontinental title match at Wrestlemania, making a statement in his first year in WWE.

But while the spotlight has been on his wrestling career, he recently revealed something intriguing about his football fandom.

Penta, whose brother Rey Fenix joined WWE in March, dropped a major surprise when he confirmed his love for Liverpool FC.

In an interview with WWE Espanol, he shared, “I finished in 2022, my debut year in WWE, 2025, zodiac sign, Aquarius, favorite food, meatballs, hobby, frontón, childhood favorite superstar, to date Rey Mysterio, favorite sports team, Mexico and International.”

“As for the Mexican team, I was told it was Cruz Azul.

No, I support Pachuca here in Mexico?

Liverpool.”

For Penta, it seems that his loyalties lie with the Reds when it comes to international football.

This is a surprising revelation, especially considering his Mexican roots and his support for Pachuca in the Liga MX.

While his brother Rey Fenix’s favourite team remains unknown, Penta’s choice to back Liverpool stands out.

Interestingly, the wrestler also mentioned a quirky habit, “I have a habit of chewing the plastic caps off water bottles?

Well, every time I drink water, I twist the bottle, take a sip, and before I know it, I’m… chewing the cap as if it were gum.”

A bit of a strange habit, but certainly a fun detail for fans to connect with.

Penta’s support for Liverpool adds another layer to his multifaceted personality, and it’s clear that while his wrestling career is taking off, his heart belongs to one of the top teams in England.
