Liverpool’s title celebration and subsequent parade has caught the attention of not just Liverpool fans, but other athletes who also support the Anfield club.
However, the parade had a disappointing end when the evening was spoilt by a vehicle collision Water Street, approximately one mile from the parade’s endpoint.
Thousands had gathered to celebrate the club’s record-equalling 20th league title, but witnessed scenes of horror on a day that should have been reserved for only positive emotions.
Club CEO Billy Hogan released a statement on Tuesday morning in response to the shock.
However, it did not stop WWE’s JD McDonagh showing his support for Liverpool on Monday Night Raw, alongside Judgment Day member Finn Balor.
McDonagh entered WWE’s Monday Night Raw event sporting a 2002-03 Liverpool’s away shirt manufactured by Reebok and featuring the iconic Carlsberg sponsor across the chest.
His faction member Finn Balor wore a Spurs kit celebrating their Europa League.
The 35-year-old wrestler from Bray has been vocal about his support for Liverpool FC throughout their record-tying 20th Premier League campaign.
Following Liverpool’s title triumph, McDonagh took to social media with a heartfelt tribute to the team’s Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, writing on X:
“Salah publicly calling his shot after a disappointing season last year and then coming back with the greatest individual performance in Premier League history to help Liverpool FC win #20 is the stuff of LEGEND?
1st time I’ve ever got a player’s name on a jersey.”
Meanwhile, Balor celebrated Tottenham 1-0 victory over Manchester United at the San Mamés Stadium last week, taking to X to share his joy:
Both wrestlers are members of WWE’s Judgment Day stable, a faction that has dominated storylines on Monday Night Raw.
On Monday’s Raw episode, Balor competed in a high-stakes Money in the Bank qualifying match against Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn.
Despite interference from Dominik Mysterio, who attempted to assist Balor by sliding a steel chair into the ring, it was Rollins who capitalized on the chaos to secure victory and advance to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
