Danny Murphy has highlighted that Premier League opponents will be worried about Manchester United’s front three, even if the Red Devils don’t make any more additions in the transfer market.

After signing attackers Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko this summer, Man United were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, 17 August.

Despite seeing a well-struck shot from a tight angle saved by David Raya, Cunha impressed Manchester United supporters with his performance against the Gunners.

The former Wolves man demonstrated his direct dribbling style and linked up well with fellow new boy Mbeumo as well as Mason Mount.

As well as bolstering their frontline, Manchester United signed Diego Leon to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the new Premier League season.

Meanwhile, speaking about the Old Trafford club’s transfer business on BBC One’s Match of the Day [17 August], Danny Murphy said: “Some might think (they need) a goalkeeper, but I’d probably think a central midfielder.

“If they’re going to play Bruno (Fernandes) in there, someone with a but more physicality than (Manuel) Ugarte and Casemiro in there.

“More powerful to do a bit more running for them but even if they don’t get anybody, that front end of the pitch is going to make their season completely different than last because every team they play against is wary.”

As outlined by Murphy, Mbeumo and Cunha caused enough problems against Arsenal to show that they can perform for Ruben Amorim’s men in the Premier League this term.

The duo have responded well to learning Amorim’s system during pre-season, and Cunha was unlucky not to score against the North London side.

Contrastingly, Sesko joined Manchester United much later in the transfer window, meaning he was not with the North West giants in pre-season.

The former RB Leipzig man’s 26-minute appearance against Arsenal did not give him enough time to cause problems for Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, following another week on the Man United training ground, the striker should establish a strong relationship with both Cunha and Mbeumo, who appear set to play just behind him in Amorim’s formation.

Therefore, the 26-year-old should be set to lead the line for Amorim’s men when they visit Fulham in their first away game of the season on Sunday, 24 August.
