Wataru Endo has given an update on his future at Liverpool, amidst reports linking him with a move away from the club.

The Japanese midfielder signed for the Reds in August 2023, for £16.2 million from German side, VfB Stuttgart.

Liverpool won their 20th league title last season and Endo came off the bench 19 times and only started one game, which was the 3-1 loss against Chelsea in May.

But Liverpool’s number three wants to continue winning trophies with the club.

He said: "I hope this is just the beginning to achieve the titles because after I came here, I won the Carabao Cup [in the] first season and the Premier League [in the] second season.

"[When] I came to Liverpool, I really wanted to achieve [the] Premier League title.

I feel like this is why I play football.”

Endo had been called upon multiple times last season to play various roles,in Arne Slot’s title winning team.

He would either be deployed as a central defensive midfielder, when Ryan Gravenberch was substituted, or as a centre back because of the injuries hit by the Reds' back line last season.

The midfielder thinks that Liverpool can achieve more silverware in more years to come.

He said: "It means a lot to me, but I still feel like we can achieve something more with the staff and the team and for the fans.

"So, I just want to keep continuing to win titles with the fans.”

It is still unclear of how many outgoings will happen at Anfield this summer, but it seems likely that the former Urawa Red Diamonds player will stay at Liverpool.

Endo has played 75 times across two seasons for Liverpool, and knows the magnitude of still having the opportunity to play for the club.

“I believe that giving it my all here, and helping Liverpool win more titles, is the path to making my career as fulfilling as possible.

"I really think Liverpool is that kind of club, one that’s worth it.

If I have the opportunity to play here, I wouldn’t throw it away just to go somewhere else.” he told Abema.

The 27-year-old has two years left on his current contract, which expires in June 2027.

He has also stated that he is in the driving position, when it comes to dealing with his contract and future at Liverpool.

He added: "If the club tells me to leave.
