Liverpool have been busy in the summer transfer window this season with several players coming in the door and many exiting Anfield.
The club have spent heavily in acquiring the services of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and they may be about to splash the cash again in the pursuit of Alexander Isak.
While there has been a lot of interest and coverage of the heavy spending being done by the Reds this summer, the coverage of how they have been able to spend this money has not been as widely reported.
Liverpool have sold a number of key squad players and youth prospects that have come through the academy over the summer, while big names in the shape of Darwin Nunez look set to leave the club.

Now, with the latest piece of business done by Richard Hughes, fans will see how Wataru Endo will be used by the club moving forward.
Liverpool have been looking to strengthen in every department this summer by signing players who can challenge for starting places in the line-up.
This policy has also seen those who are considered squad players being moved on, yet Endo looks likely to stay following the latest business done by Richard Hughes.
It has been reported that youthful midfielder Tyler Morton is set to undergo a medical at Lyon after a deal for around £15 million has been agreed.

This would leave Liverpool short in defensive midfield cover, especially if Stefan Baj?eti? is also set to depart the club, with Celtic being viewed as his likely destination.
While Endo has been viewed as potential cover for centre back in certain fixtures, there will be a need for him to cover the defensive midfield role too if the deals are confirmed.
This versatility will see the Japanese midfielder be a key part of Arne Slot’s squad this campaign as they look to retain the title and fight for the Champions League.
While Morton would not have been starting regularly for Liverpool this season, his departure sees the number of options in the position decrease.
Add in the fact that both Harvey Elliot and Stefan Baj?eti? are rumoured to be heading out the exit door; the options for Slot at Liverpool this season may be limited.

This would limit it to six or seven midfield options ahead of the season, and while this is not a worrying figure, there are a limited number of those players that can operate in a defensive role.
The only options are Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, with an argument being made for Alexis Mac Allister in the role too, but he is better as a player who does not have the responsibility of being the main defensive midfielder.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool manage to sign Nathan Collins from Brentford, with the Republic of Ireland international having operated in that role for his nation.
