Rooney has reflected on his two stints at Everton before the derby this weekend.

That included recalling a story about his wife, Coleen, from five years ago.

"He said to me: 'I want you to do well, but I couldn't bear being at the stadium watching Man United lift the Champions League if you win it', so he didn't go."
