Jamie Carragher has urged supporters not to "take sides" on the back of Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp's flash point during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Salah and Klopp were seen exchanging words after the Hammers levelled late on, at which point the Egyptian was being readied to come on.

It is unclear what caused the visible disagreement between the pair, which Darwin Nunez felt obliged to step in and break up as tempers flared.

Klopp attempted to diffuse any discussion of a potential rift after the full-time whistle, though Salah admitted there would be "fire" if he chose to speak and did little to move attention away from this shock moment.

Trying to put his finger on what occurred between the pair, Carragher yesterday tweeted: "The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on."

Weighing in again on this subject today, the ex-Liverpool defender expressed his confidence over a resolution being found.

Carragher said: "Mo Salah & Jurgen Klopp are both LFC legends.

Salah is frustrated & angry with Jurgen that he’s not playing & at that moment didn’t want to fully embrace the boss, Jurgen understandably took exception.

"Mo was daft with his comment in the mixed zone but lets let them sort it out & enjoy the last few weeks together.

They’ve been a massive help to each other in all that’s been achieved at the club!"

Salah was left on the bench for Saturday's showdown in the capital amid a poor run of form, which has seen the 31-year-old score only once in his last six appearances.
