Liverpool are celebrating their Premier League title success on Monday as they parade through the city streets.

It has been a fantastic season for the Reds, culminating in an unforgettable day at Anfield on Sunday.

But after lifting the Premier League trophy in front of their supporters for the first time ever, the fun was not over for the Liverpool squad.

With supporters desperate to revel in a trophy they missed out on celebrating in 2020, the players boarded an open-top bus on bank holiday Monday.

The Liverpool weather was not the best for the occasion, but it still promised to be a special day for all in attendance.

And, just as he was for Liverpool’s latest parade in 2022, superstar DJ Calvin Harris was booked to keep the music spinning aboard the player’s bus.

The Scotsman turned up and sprinkled some stardust on the occasion.

This time, fans had been wondering whether Harris would indeed appear again.

Inevitably, he did.

And speaking to Liverpool’s official X account before things got underway on the bus, Harris was asked to explain how his involvement came about.

“This started with Andy Robertson, and I can’t remember how we first got chatting, I genuinely can’t remember that,” said the Brit award-winning DJ.

“It must have been some kind of Instagram thing, I probably liked one of his pictures or something like that.

And then I was travelling, it was Liverpool vs Newcastle at St James’ in 2022 and we bumped into each other, they were flying back to Liverpool and Andy was like ‘do you fancy doing the parade?’ I’m like ‘I suppose so aye!’

“I think it was just an idea that he had there and then and then one of the senior guys sort of took over and then made it happen.

He was more just like ‘you’re doing the bus this year.’ ‘Ok, alright, I’ll be there!'”

Having been robbed of the chance to properly celebrate five years ago, Liverpool supporters have been waiting a long time for this day.

The parade of 2019 lives long in the memory of all who witnessed it, and although 2022 was good, it also came the day after disappointment in the Champions League final.

This time, there is no such hangover, with the full city turning out to hail their heroes.

And although the weather did not hold out completely, there was still enough sunshine to prevent a washout.

Grooving along to the tunes of Harris, the Liverpool squad enjoyed their last act of the season before heading off for the summer break.
