Declan Rice has sent a heartfelt message on social media following a historic moment in Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Leeds United.

The Gunners continued their perfect start to the new campaign with a 5-0 victory over Leeds at the Emirates on Saturday (24 August).

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring for Mikel Arteta’s side, before Bukayo Saka doubled their lead before half-time.

After the break, Viktor Gyokeres grabbed a brace, with Timber adding another in between to secure a comfortable win for the North London side.

During the contest, in a stunning development, 15-year-old Max Dowman became the second-youngest Premier League player of all time, coming on for his top-flight debut in the 64th minute.

Dowman managed to win a late penalty, which Gyokeres duly converted, to cap off an impressive first league appearance for the Gunners.

After the game, the attacker took to social media to reflect on the game.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United won’t consider any transfer bids for either Anthony Gordon or Bruno Guimaraes this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed in May that Arsenal were interested in a move for Gordon this summer, but their transfer activity has taken a different course after Newcastle qualified for the Champions League.

The Magpies are adamant that the winger will remain at the club beyond the end of the transfer window.

However, Arteta’s side could still be in the market for another wide option, despite the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
