West Ham forward Michail Antonio has backed his team to finish above Liverpool in the Premier League this season. Both teams have enjoyed a strong start to the new campaign, unbeaten after five matches played and the Hammers losing just once despite suffering the loss of Declan Rice this summer. West Ham spent well in the transfer market, utilising the significant fee they received for Rice to reinvest in Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Mohammed Kudus in the midfield department. Progress being made by David Moyes' side will be put to the test on Sunday afternoon when they make the trip to Anfield, which comes on the back of their match with Manchester City at the weekend.
Antonio continued: "You know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season.
As well as meeting in the Premier League, there is also the potential West Ham and Liverpool could face off in during the latter stages of the Europa League.
I don't want to be too harsh on West Ham because it's only Michail I don't like, not the West Ham fans."
