As rallying cries go, few have proven as powerful as Mohamed Salah taking to Twitter/X in recent times.
"Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell."
It was a statement that has since been viewed nearly 10m times and had over 100k likes on X alone and having wrapped up a second title in five years with 28 goals and 18 assists for Arne Slot's newly-crowned champions, no-one can accuse Salah of not following through on that promise.

At the time, it was genuinely unclear if Salah would be remaining with the Reds but rather than fret and fear, the Egyptian refused to let his personal situation affect professional performances.
Instead, he was emboldened by his status as a soon-to-be free agent, becoming irrepressible and inevitable to the point where it would have been viewed, to some at least, as ludicrous for Liverpool to have allowed him to leave.
The decision to shun the Olympic Games in Paris over a full and uninterrupted pre-season with Slot was an inspired one by Salah and his determination to show the new coaching regime that he was still the fittest player in the squad was evident when he blitzed through the Six-Minute-Race-Test (6MRT) at the AXA Training Centre last July.

Like his social media postings, it was a statement of intent, but actions speak louder than words.
From there, Salah never looked back, moving up to third in the all-time list of Liverpool goalscorers behind only Roger Hunt and Ian Rush.
A new two-year deal affords him enough time and space to secure the 42 goals needed to edge ahead of the great Hunt but, more importantly, it allows him the chance to add to a glittering trophy haul at Anfield as a now two-time Premier League winner.
