Liverpool midfielder Fabinho shared a brief catch-up with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez after his side's Champions League quarter-final first-leg defeat on Tuesday night.

After every Real game, Perez goes down to the dressing room to congratulate - or commiserate - his players and Tuesday's game was no different.

More: Liverpool FC Perez remembered Fabinho from his brief time at the club despite the Brazilian having made just one single appearance for the first team, with the rest of his outings coming for the Castilla side.

According to Marca, Perez made reference to Fabinho's transformation from right-back to defensive midfielder, saying: 'I remember with us you played as a right-back.

Fresh from seeing Vinicius having tormented Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho smiled and replied: 'Yes but to play as a right back now [laughs] What a player you have in Vinicius!'.
