Liverpool FC have confirmed the signing of French striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, completing a transfer deal reported to be around £69 million with potential add-ons rising to £79 million. Ekitike, 23, who initially moved to Frankfurt on loan from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in early 2024, has impressed in the Bundesliga, scoring 26 goals in 64 appearances and earning a place in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for 2024-25. The France U21 international also contributed 15 goals and eight assists in his breakout Bundesliga season and helped Frankfurt reach the Europa League quarterfinals.

Having already completed his medical and agreed personal terms, Ekitike is set to join Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong to integrate with his new teammates. He joins a revamped Liverpool squad under manager Arne Slot, following the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
