Taking to Instagram, Mac Allister sent a heartfelt message to Liverpool supporters having won the Premier League title on Sunday, with the Argentine international writing: “I never forget where I come from.

“From a family that taught me the value of hard work, from dreams born with an Irish surname and a truly Argentine heart.

And today, from Liverpool, it writes an unforgettable chapter.

Mohamed Salah has stolen the majority of the headlines for Liverpool this season with Virgil van Dijk’s performances at the back also winning plenty of plaudits as the Anfield superstars have asserted themselves as two of the best players in the world.

Yet ask any Liverpool fan how Mac Allister has performed this season, and supporters will say the Argentine international has been just as important as a Salah or a Van Dijk, with the midfielder performing at a world-class level.

Indeed, Mac Allister has fully established himself as a Premier League superstar this season, and the former Brighton man will be eager to go again in the new campaign with the Reds set to spend big on new signings in the summer.
