It seems that Liverpool and their interest in Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold is genuine.

The news comes following the Englishman’s confirmation that his 20-year association with the club will end this summer.

The Dutch international has emerged as a leading candidate to fill the void at right back.

Frimpong operates primarily as an attack-minded right wing-back in Leverkusen’s 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formations.

His role under Alonso is essentially that of an additional attacking outlet, functioning almost as a right winger who maintains width and makes aggressive overlapping runs11.

His standout qualities include exceptional acceleration, constant vertical runs, and the ability to overload the right flank.
