9 who fits the team’s style and is ready to lead the line.
But they are not shopping alone.
The competition is fierce.
Newcastle want to keep Alexander Isak.
Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez is heavily priced.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike is also on the list of names going around.
The problem?
All of them are reportedly valued at over £100 million.
That immediately puts them in a different category.
So, Liverpool have turned their attention elsewhere—and Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig has become a real possibility.
What Liverpool discovered is that Sesko may be easier to land than the others.
RB Leipzig are set to miss out on a top-four Bundesliga finish.
After drawing 0-0 with Werder Bremen last weekend, the best they can finish is fifth.
That result confirmed what was already expected.
Frankfurt, Freiburg, and Dortmund are now fighting for the last two Champions League spots.
That means Leipzig are out—and their top players could be on the move.
Sesko is one of them.
He has a release clause of around €80 million (£67.3m).
That figure puts him below the £100m+ group and makes him a more realistic option.
Also, his desire to play in Europe’s top competition could work in Liverpool’s favour.
But if recent reports are true, there might be a new titl ot the story.
According to a report from Lorenzo Lepore via X, “Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool have all recently expressed interest in Benjamin Šeško, but RBLeipzig are demanding a high transfer fee—reportedly over €100 million plus add-ons—as they are keen to retain the striker.”
That means despite the release clause, Leipzig may still try to hold out for more.
Still, with Leipzig out of the Champions League, Liverpool may see an opening.
