The Premier League sure knows how to wake people up from a Monday morning slumber, with some news emerging involving Manchester City that Liverpool will watch closely. The league released a statement this morning indicating that their four-year investigation into breaches of financial fair play rules has provided a litany of charges, which they released to the public. The seasons in question run from the 2009/10 season to the 2017/18. Of course, there is a long way to go before the dust settles, the case will no doubt go through multiple layers of lawyers, courts, and negotiations.

A report in added: "If the club are found guilty, punishment could range from a points deduction to a possible exclusion from the Premier League."
