Man United loanee Marcus Rashford made his mark in the Champions League for Barcelona, crediting Hansi Flick for his standout performance.
Rashford joined Barcelona on a loan deal from Man United in the summer window, and has shone in the side’s latest win against Newcastle.
Rashford scored a brace for Hansi Flick’s side at St James’ Park to earn three points on the opening fixture of the Champions League.
Man United fans were frustrated to see Rashford shine, particularly after Ruben Amorim decided to axe him from the first-team squad after their fallout last season.
Now, after just a few weeks in Spain under Flick’s guidance, the winger has commented on his performance, potentially adding pressure on Amorim regarding his decisions back at Old Trafford.
In the aftermath of the victory, Rashford spoke on the prospect of his future being in Spain long-term, as well as his time so far with Flick.
He told TNT Sports: “I want to stay as long as possible at Barcelona.
I knew he was great before I signed, but working with him is a real pleasure”.
There had been early reports that Rashford faced the prospect of returning to Man United earlier than expected if the club paid a fee.
However, with Lamine Yamal’s injury, the Englishman was trusted on the flank and rewarded the manager’s decision with two goals
Although those goals were his first for Barcelona, the winger has been in top form since the turn of the year after shining under Unai Emery.
However, Rashford preferred a move to Barcelona over Aston Villa, with the Spanish giants including an option to make the loan permanent.

Amorim has been backed by the hierarchy with a number of players part of the bomb squad over the summer.
Players such as Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho left Man United as the manager had no plans to integrate them into the squad.
However, with performances continuing to disappoint this term, Amorim has come under sack pressure once again.
Players who have left the club have performed well elsewhere previously, with Scott McTominay shining for Napoli and Antony’s Betis displays last term.
Should this trend persist with Rashford, questions over Amorim’s judgement and squad management are likely to intensify.
