Left-back is another position that has often been said to need improving after Andy Robertson’s sub-par season, with Liverpool set to sign Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

The Hungarian has been widely praised since coming to the Premier League, but he has been destined for greatness since the very start of his career.

Despite still being just 21, Kerkez started his senior career very young and made his debut for ETO FC Gyor in his homeland aged just 16.

This is where he first made a name for himself before joining AC Milan after a year, with his former teammate Tamas Priskin revealing what made Kerkez so special when he first came through.

“Of course, he was very humble and already in the team at 16, he started playing at a very young age and he was playing not because of his age, but because he deserved it,” Priskin said on the Redmen TV 2 YouTube channel.

“He was doing so well, he was a hardworking, running up and down on the pitch and, of course, he was one of the most important players in our team.”

Kerkez and Priskin played 14 times together at Gyor, although both were at very different stages of their lives as the striker was entering the twilight of his career.

As for Kerkez, he went on to AC Milan, before proving himself in the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar and now, of course, the Premier League.

Although it is still not decided whether it will be Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas that departs the club this summer, the Scotsman is the most likely to stay due to his experience and longevity at the top level.

Both very similar players, Kerkez can learn a lot from Robertson on how to become a successful Liverpool left-back, something Priskin believes the 21-year-old is ready to do.

“Milos’ character is like this, if he has another player at a really good level, then he’s already ready to learn and listen to them and will be getting better day by day,” Priskin said.

“So, I think Andy Robertson will be a great player for him to become a better player of course.”

The deal may not be confirmed but it is well on its way to happening and Kerkez is very keen on the move, suggesting that this transfer could quite easily be a huge success.
