Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has revealed what he changed last summer following a difficult season.
"Last season was a season where I thought to myself, I'm not going through that again," he said.
I didn't want to waste another season."
Neville went on to ask what went wrong during last season, where the Liverpool vice-captain added: "It was just, as a whole, we went through a rough season.
"At the end of that season, I just thought I'm not going through that again.
You love it because it makes it feel even more special when things are going well, but you also have the sense of your letting everyone down when you’re not performing, which is difficult.
“It’s important for players to go through this because once you come out of it, and how I feel now, whatever I go through from now until the end of my career, I’ll be able to handle it, whether good or bad I’ll have the right mentality.”
Liverpool.com says: While he hasn't met the same numbers as last season and has struggled with injuries which have limited him to just 19 starts in the Premier League so far, the improvements made have been clear to see regarding the upshift in form for the club as a whole.
Liverpool is once again competing with the very best and regardless of whether or not any more trophies are secured, it's a season they can be proud of to mark Klopp's exit in style.
